Why sprockets, chains and guides belong in one inspection
A replacement moving surface should be checked against the parts that drive and guide it.

Look beyond the worn part
A belt or chain works as part of an assembly. Sprockets engage the moving surface, while guides and wear strips affect how it travels through the conveyor.
When a component wears early or tracks poorly, inspect the connected parts as well as the obvious failure point. A new chain on a worn or mismatched drive may not solve the original problem.
Record the dimensions that matter
For a sprocket, tooth count alone is not enough. Pitch, bore, shaft arrangement, material and the matching belt or chain series should be confirmed. For guides and wear strips, measure the installed profile and note the wear pattern.
Photographs of the whole installation and close views of markings help the CBMS team compare parts and identify possible mismatches.
Plan the replacement as a set
Check condition and compatibility before ordering individual parts. Reviewing the moving surface, drive and guides together can help avoid repeat downtime after the repair.
